Belshe Reunion -- Part 1: Spring Garden Cemetery

Memorial Day Weekend plays host to the annual Belshe Family Reunion in Eldon, Missouri. This year was particularly special, as it marked the 20th anniversary of the reunion. Every year on that Saturday morning, the family gathers at Spring Garden Cemetery to remember our ancestors by placing flowers at each headstone.

Horses and Flowers

Last weekend I ventured over to the Ellington Agricultural Center. I drive right through this beautiful center every day, but I've never stopped in to explore it. The center houses the Metro Nashville Police horses, and that morning they were out grazing in the fields. I met a wonderful gentleman who took the time to tell me all about the area, and he pointed me towards the Iris Garden and the cabin "town" on the campus.

Bon Voyage!

Last weekend we took a "sunset cruise" on Tims Ford Lake. The sunset was absolutely beautiful ...

... These two certainly enjoyed taking in the view as well!

Teeing Off

Saturday afternoon, my brother and I hit the greens for a little game of golf. Of course I snapped a few pictures as we went along, and here are some of my favorites.

Last Friday, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and the Nashville Wealth Building Alliance held a thank you reception at the Nashville Public Library for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Volunteers. Congressman Jim Cooper; Pam Quayson, from the Internal Revenue Service; and Jessica Farr, from the Federal Reserve Bank, all shared their thanks for the volunteers.

Crossville and Cumberland Mountain State Park

This weekend marked my first trip to Crossville, Tenn. Plans for a weekend of hiking were dampened by the rain, but the skies cleared early enough Saturday evening for a nice stroll through the historic downtown area.

I'm not sure a brick wall is the best place to park your car.

Greeter Falls

Last weekend I went out to Greeter Falls for a little R&R. These are some of my favorite shots from the day.

It's a long way up!

Too much fun.
